Questions on I-485, in particular whether they were arrested or stopped by cops while living in California, whether they are communist party members etc.
The officer didn't ask my parents anything about their health insurance. I don't think insurance is required as long as you prove that you have enough resources to cover their cost here in the US.
I recall someone on this board saying it's better that the sponsor appear at the interview if at all possible. Whether or not the sponsor's spouse can translate depends on the officer you get. The officer we got was kind enough to let me translate for my parents. But i did hear other cases where the officer didn't allow relatives to translate. However in those cases, the officer found someone in the same USCIS office to translate.
