I think you need to decide based on which is more relevant. I recall that on the application form, besides the basic "degree + years of working experience" guideline, there were a lot of details on what skills this job requires, and how many years of experience you have on each line item. The latter is more important, you would need to qualify for each of them. At least that's what our company lawyer was trying to do.
