NIW/EB2,I-140 approved in 2008 , I-485 pending since 07 2007. From visa china. I may quit my job and work as an independant consultant （part-time） for family reasons temporally and I may not be able to find a new full time job in usa at least for 4-6 months. I have both EAD and AP.

My questions are:

1） Do I have to have a job or job offer if my 485 is processed during this employment gap?

I have read that NIW cases do not need to have a job offer?

Is it true that NIW and EB1A cases do not need to have employment offers?

2） Is it safe that I stay in a foreign country （ not usa） for 2 month and back to usa working on a part time job as a consultant? （ During the 2 month, I will still work in the same area but without pay from usa.）

3） Can I be self-employed? For example, start-up llc.
