Background info - H1B thru 09/30/2010 second term; 485 pending since July 2007; EAD available, not yet used; PD: September 2006

Questions:

1). I may renew H1B year by year and stay with current employer. Can I wait until September 2010 to renew my H1B (I may need additional time to consider H1B with current employer or EAD for a new employer). So long as H1B receipt is received prior to 09/30/2010, I should be okay to work. is this correct?

Or I may consider changing a job in a similar area by using EAD in next several months.

If I change my job and use EAD, any risk here in my situation, given my PD?

2). My kid is currently in a H4 status. If I do not renew H1B and instead use EAD in a new job position, I will be in a AOS status. Then, what will be my kid's status?
-If your kid has teh pending I-485 loke you, his/her status will be AOS automatically in this case.

I assume my kid's status will be AOS automatically. Is this correct?
-Yes.
Do I need to apply for something to support his AOS status?
-No.
