回複:回複:回複:863211 further help--I485(NIW) job verification

: It is ideal if you keep your old job, or stay in the field if you decide to change job. If you are no longer employed, you may have problem with USCIS.
According to USCIS regulation, there shall be no interview for employment based case. If you are unemployed, you should be prepared to explain the circumstances for the unemployment, for example, boss' research fund has run out.

Generally, it should not be a problem since NIW does not require a job offer.
-Not true. NIW or EB1A I-140 does not need to have a job, but not I-485. That is why people feel confused soemtimes. Unless USCIS does not send you RFE for your employment status (it normally happens when your I-485 has been pre-approved), your I-485 will be denied if you do not have a job when USCIS ask for your employment status. Why is it called employment-based? If you do not have a job, how do you meet the employment based? If the employment was not required for NIW or EB1A, millions people would have got their GC outside U.S.
