For example, you can change your status to H4 before your 6 year H1 expires and then, when the PERM filng > one year or the I-140 approval, you can change back to H1 and extend it beyond 6 years. or just go back to China before the H1 reaches the 6 year limit and then, enter US with H1 visa after PERM filing > one year or I-140 approval and then, extend it beyond the 6 year limit.
