Looks like I must change to an H1b after the L1 inter-company base no longer holds.
Now, after I get an H1b with my petitioning company, can I take extended leave (6 months), and work for a new company under another H1b (I understand one can take two H1b without the need of a quota), or EAD? Will this help or jeopardize my 485 case?
Obviously I won't get paid during the "leave" period from the petitioning company, but my boss is also a friend and he's willing to help whichever way he can.
-The principle is that when you do not work with the company, your h1 expires (no leave without pay applys to H1 for such long period of time).
