Since A's second preference priority date is September 15, 2005, her priority date will be reached in May. The CIS can approve her applications for adjustment of status (forms I-485) during the month of May, although there is no guarantee that that agency will move quickly to do so. The CIS is supposed to perform "sweeps" of their system in order to pull up cases once the priority date has been reached. Before A's cases can be approved, the CIS must schedule biometrics appointments in order to update the security clearances/background checks for their cases. I will contact you as soon as I receive any correspondence from the CIS.
More news regarding A's case! I just received e-mail notification that the CIS has approved A's application for advance parole (see e-mail below). We should receive her original advance parole document in the mail within the next week.
As I mentioned in an e-mail earlier today, A's priority date will be reached in May and the CIS could approve her application for adjustment of status ("green card" case) next month. Unless A wants to try to delay CIS action on her pending adjustment of status case, it would not be a good idea for her to travel outside the U.S. next month.
我該怎麽辦?事實上我已經訂好了5月12號的機票(3月份就訂了)。我是不是還要到local的immogration office去申請一個早點的Biometrics appointments?
幹等著真不是容易的事。
