The H1 Visa valitity druation for a Chinese citizen is normally for 3 months with 2 entries and that means you have to enter U.S. within 3 months for 2 times (normally you only need to enter US one time). it has nothing to do with your H1 duration within U.S. The Duration of your H1 status is decided by the CBP officer at the port of entry when you enter U.S. The officer will offer your H1 duration based on your H1 approval notice and indicate it on your I-94. So, you need to check your I-94 to see whether the I-94 duration matches your H1 approval notice duration (e.g. 3 years). If no, ask teh officer to fix it at the port of entry.
