Our PDs became current on March 1, 2010. Contacted the Congressman and were told to fill in the Privacy Release Form first before they pursue this matter.

The Form is to authorize the congressman to access our private information concerning our files in USCIS.

Is it normal?
-Yes, it is very normal. If you do not authorize the congressman the right to access your file, he/she can do nothing to help you. It is similar to that you sign agreement with a lawyer to authorize the lawyer to represent you for a specific case. Of course, the congressman will keep all your information safe, so do not worry.
