what is the reason of I-485 denial? If denial reason is fraud or inadmissibility, your non-immigrant status is no good anymore. If EB based, I can imagine that people got I-140 denial which leads to I-485 denial, in those EB basis, TN is still good until it expires. In marriage to USC I-130 cases, the I-130 denial is serious often due to damaging reasons and sure can hurt any legal stay in US.
