-Yes, everything has negative side. But if your old employer does not cancel the H1 and the I-94 is still valid, you can go back to work for the old employer. Also, as long as your old I-94 is still valid even if your old employer cancelled the old H1, you are still lawfully present. So, you can find another job and do the h1 transfer, most likely your h1 will be approved without I-94 in this case and thus, you need to go outside U.S. to get an H1 visa.
But if your new job/employer is not unusual, your h1 transfer should have no probelm because very few h1 transfer cases were denied. Of course, if you worry too much, you may spend $1000 more to use promium process to get it approved within 15 days before you go to work. 所謂花錢買心安!
