Are your sure you filed Form I-824, not I-130? If you filed I-130, that was a mistake and it will take a long time because I-130 is for family based category. If you filed Form I-824, has it been approved yet? If yes, you should contact the National Visa Center to see what is going on? If it is not approved, you should contact USCIS Service Center (e.g. TSC or NSC) where the I-824 was filed.
