Thousands of Chinese people who had 因公護照 got their GC in 1989 (6.4事件) and then, became U.S. citizen have no problem to get the Chinese visa to enter China. So, I do not think you need to worry about that. You have to do it anyway unless you plan not to go to China for your life time, right?
