teaching short course in US, does it make difference?
-It is different from that you work for the employer in a foreign country. In other words, working for a foreign country employer (outside US) has nothing to do with USCIS immigration law.
if he teaches in US, can he take the paycheck legally since he is holding H1 work visa?
-No. You can not work (teach) for another employer in U.S. without the H1 sponsored by that employer. In other words, H1 status is very specific to the employer, and you only can work for the employer who sponsored your H1 status.
