綠卡緊急回國

我太太一星期前從加拿大入境美國，移民簽證被擊活。下個星期回中國，　機票幾個月前已定。但海關告知，在未拿到正式綠卡前，不得離境。請問該怎麽辦？能否將綠卡寄回，但不知入境時怎麽看待出境時間？謝謝！
