一位朋友有綠卡，在美買了房子，他不想申請公民。請問如果他回國替美國公司工作是不是可以保住他的綠卡和身份？

-He still needs to apply for Reentry permit (RP) if he plans to work in China for more than one year and less two years. With RP, he can stay in China for a maximum of two years. If he lives in China for > one year without RP, his green card may be cancelled.

If he plans to apply for US citizenship later, he may also file Form N-470 to keep the time spent outside the USA to be counted as his "physical presence" in the US for the purpose of calculating thme needed to apply for naturalization.

But he still needs RP to stay in China for > one year
