Can I hold my current AP back to china,

---- No, you can't. the law says in order to use AP, you must carry it with you travelling out of US, and then come back to use it. You can't leave US without receiving it. But in your case, your old AP is still valid, so you can use that to leave US.
The best way for you is to get an emergency AP at your local immigration office. Your mom's health problem is a strong reason for you to get emergency AP which can be approved within a few days. This emergency AP is also valid for one year, but can only be used once.
