H-1B is only good for 6 years, the reason it could be extended over 6 years is because the applicant is working toward his green card the USCIS give the applicant a break. That's the only reason. If the 485 is denied, this reason is not exist. So, H-1B is not valid anymore because 485 is not "Pending". In other word, you H-1B (over 6 years only) status is lost once the 485 got approved or denied. Am I right?
