I485 is pending, need help!!!

I am a F1 student, my hu*****and has the citizenship in USA. We applied to change my status (I485), now it is pending since we need to supply more documents. Is that my status is still student visa as F1? If the case keep pending or denied, or if I cancel the application, can I still have my F1 visa? Can I go back China to visit my families?
