Your parents were supposed to receive the letters from USCIS that their cases were transfered to whcih USCIS office. If the cases were transfered to National Benefit Center (NBC), your parents expect to have interview for the I-485 (NBC will contact them for that). If the cases were transfered to another kind of service center (e.g. from TSC to NSC), they may be not required to have the interview at this time.
