急啊！請教，H1B延期和EAD延期可以同時申請嗎？

現在的H1B今年12月到期，我8月就找公司律師提交了延期申請，現在買房子，需要H1B的延期證明。可是 我向律師要的時候，他卻不理我，我找了公司HR，他們也不回。
我現在很擔心，那個阿三律師到底有沒有把我的申請遞交上去。
請問，我現在可以不可以自己申請EAD，以防那個啊三真的沒給我遞申請？
另外，EAD延期多久能批下來？
