But it is tricky. Once you submit 485, you can no longer renew TN. So make sure your TN expires before you can get EAD and you will be fine. Given that TN is for 3 years now, it is more doable than ever. You only need to renew it before submitting 485 then you have 3 years of time to get an EAD.
