Urgent help needed!!! Does USCIS pick up the Express mail?

We sent an Express Mail to USCIS California Center, but it arrived it on Saturday. Nobody was there. So a notice was left for them to let them to pick it up at post office. No more delivery will be scheduled. Or it will be returned to us after 5 days. Since it is a RFE reply mail that needs to be received before August 21. We are afraid there is no enough time for us to resend it in time if it is returned. What we can do??
