one more thing

your company is not firing you. it's job transfer. how long you have been with the company in the U.S? are u employeed in the US or transferred from china? if u are employeed here and being employeed for over one year, you can refuse the transfer and they can't fire you because of that. if they do, you can contact the labor dept for non fair treatment. but you don't want to do that cause this will also show you are not working with them and you status will not be valid. no laws states the amount of severance pay. and chinese companies are always stingy and i don't think u are not going to get anything. but you can threat them it's the law you can refuse the transfer and stay.
