But I still have a question. As you know, when I stop my job, I won't take j-1 any more but my H-4 approval is pending; so during this period, my status is legal?
-You do not have status during the H4 pending, but you are legally present. After your H4 application is approved, your H4 status will be counted from the date you indicate in the H4 application form, so your status have no gap from J1 to H4.

After I get the final approval for h-4 visa, I don't need to go outside USA to activate my H-4 visa?
