I just got lay off. I have been given 2 weeks notification. My employment terminates at the end of July. My situation is: I am currently using H1B, 4th year and in the 2nd renewal. I have applied EB3 (140 and 485 at JUL2007). My 140 got approved at FEB2009. I have applied EAD and got approved EAD until the end of 2010.
While I am looking for the new job, will I use my EAD or still using H1B? What about 180 days rule? How long should I find the new job before endanger my GC approval?

I just got the lay off notice. Also in the lay off package, I've got a letter saying that:
"To comply with USCIS regualtions, we will soon inform USCIS of your termination . We very much hope this will not adversely affect your immigration situation, but we have been advised by counsel that it is nessessary for us to contact USCIS about this"
What does the company trying to say? Will they withdraw my approved I-140?
