My comments for your question are based on common principles. If your kid has an I-94 of parolee, he/she may be qualified for the financial aid from FAFSA.
If you do not want financial aid, you do not need to worry about whether your kid will be an international student or not. As long as your kid is lawfully present in U.S. and graduates from a U.S. high school, I do not see any difference with his/her legal status for the college admission.
