I believe you can handle it by yourself.

Any arrest record will trigger out the interview. It's a processing. USCIS needs all records associated with your case, including records from both police department and the court.

You have to request the open record of your case in the police department at the city you got arrested, which includes everything in the arrest. From the court, you can ask the front office to print out the record for you, including the court decision (as you said, dismissed) and the invoice you paid for any cost related to your case and punishment if any in the court. Also the original copy you received from those departments.

The keypoint in this interview is that the iunterview officer (IO) will collect all more information USCIS needs. You may ask IO to check his computer to see what other information USCIS really need. If you forget to bring the information they need at the interview site, you can kindly ask for permission to bring it back to IO in his shift time (be sure to remember the name of IO because you may not meet IO again but you can ask security officer to hand it over to your IO).

I don't think you need someone to help you. It's up to you. Typically the IO has your 485 package at hand. You may prepare more documents but only give IO what he ask for. Business dress, 10 minutes earlier than the schedule and count the security check time.

Don't worry, it's a easy processing. Bring all documents you think it's necessary (records from both police department and the court). More, better. You can write down the court phone number in your hand, you may need call them for the information IO ask for if the document you bring with is not appropriate.

Our experience, for your reference.

Good luck!
