Pjiang please help for I485 REf

I am H4. I got Ref letter from USCIS that submitted maintenance of status for Sept. 2, 2001 through Jan. 27,2007. The problem is when I entered to USA on Aug.15 2008(H4 class), the passport showed visitor permitted to remain until 22/08/2001. The passport expired to Sept.1, 2001. When I asked someone they told me this justfor enteredd to USA expired. I can stay the same date with my hu*****and H1 expired.(2003). On 2/04/2002 I renewed my H4 from 2/4/2002 to 2/4/2005.then contiune renewed to 2/1/2012. Now what can I do?Is I am illegal stay in USA? Please help?
