Currently AOS, want to do H1B transfer?

The company shut down. Was laid off in Feb with H1B. Already hold EAD (dependent). Just got a job offer.

Question: I know I can use EAD to start the new job. But I am still thinking to do the H1B transfer. What will be happened if I do so? I have 3 months gap.
