My parents' B2 visa extension (submitted to USCIS California) was denied a month ago. So I believe I can give you some advice. The answer to Item 3 is wrong. Your mother needs to leave within 30 days if her application is denied. In addition, if her application is denied, her stay will be considered illegal and this will definitely affect her visa application in the future. Based on my experience, most B2 extension applications are denied these days. Unless your mother MUST stay, I recommend her to leave as originally planned.
