what does new employer need to do when you use I485 180 day port

If you find a new employer after I485 pending for 180 days (suppose I140 approved), does the new employer need to do anything? I suppose that you apply for EAD and use that to work for the new employer. Then you just wait for I485 approval without the new employer doing anything?
