Does the visa officer know that my baby is currently in China ?

My parents-in-law will apply for visa this month, my baby is living with them in china now. We do not want the visa officer know that the parents-in-law is taking care of my baby.

Does the visa officer know that my baby is currently in China instead of in USA?
