I'm also very confused!

PJiang's blog says (my understanding): Once your I485 has submitted. They will process it following their I485 processing time frame regardless if your PD is current. However, your I485 wouldn't get approved until your PD was current.

However, my 老美 lawyer said: If your PD is not current, USCIS will not adjudicate your I485. Furthermore, the USCIS online case processing information does NOT apply to individuals who are stuck in the immigrant visa backlog. Until your Priority Date is current, USCIS will not adjudicate your adjustment of status application.

My 老美 lawyer said "ADJUDICATE", does she mean USCIS will not even process your I485 at all? I know some of people here have received RFEs of their I485 even though their PDs are not current!

Anyone can clear my confusion? PJiang 老師, PLEASE?
