回複：我的六年綠卡路 (8)-感言(完)

綠卡批準了,我的朋友問我有什麽感受.說真的一是挺高興,不是大喜或狂喜,隻是一件事兒OVER的RELIEF, 二來有些麻木,時間太長了,公司裏的朋友說,我的綠卡批準代表一個時代的終結,公司NEW HIRE都是80後了,辦綠卡也是這撥人了.

說實在的,到2008年底GREEN CARD未見批準,我已做好和TSC長期耗下去的準備了,大不了每年RENEW EAD CARD 和 AP. 某種意義上我還要感謝USCIS,由於綠卡的進程使我推遲了買房的時間,為我省了幾萬DOLLAR.

綠卡批準時我正在國內和父母親過春節和十五,這是我到美國十多年後頭一次和父母親過春節和十五.由於身體的原因我的父母親不能來美國.看著他們蒼老的麵容和由於我在他們身邊而在他們臉上洋溢著的喜悅,尤其想到他們終有一天會永遠離我而去,我在心裏問我自己我所做所為真有什麽意義嗎? 我的兒子長於美國,他以後可能會視自己為美國人(美國白人會視他為CHINESE,I GUESS).他的老爸我可能會在老了的時候選擇葉落歸跟,回到我父母的身邊.
