Pjing please help- H4 and AP

We got AP at the same time last year. I used AP last year and renewed my H1b after that. and my hu*****and H4 renewed. He is using EAD working now. Our 485 is till pending. Can he renew AP and use AP reenter USA? If he use AP, his 485 is till OK?
