A H1B status question to Pjiang and other experts. Thanks.

I am a post-doc working for a public university. My OPT ended on June 10, 2008 and my H1B started on June 11, 2008. After this H1B was approved, I was supplied with a copy of H1B petition prepared by my university international office staff and I found out one error (salary was typed wrong by the staff who handled my petition). So I let her know and she went ahead filed an amended petition to correct the error. The amended petition receipt date was in time (June 10 2008). She told me I could start working from June 11 2008, using the approved H1B (with wrong salary) and this new pending amended H1B. But about two months later, the amended petition was processed and approved, with a starting date of 08/27/2008, instead of the requested starting date of June 11 2008 in the amended petition. The staff at my university international office told me I am good in H1B status.

I just want to confirm with experts here that I was not illegally working between June 11 2008 and 08/26/2008.

I hope I described my situation and question clearly.
