Yes, some people also use 西聯匯款.

But I guess you must have sent the personal check directly to your family and then they ask bank of China in your hometown to 辦托收. If so, Bank of China charge your more fee and the process is very slow too. But If you send your check to Bank of China-New York Branch or Chinatown Branch, NY, they only charge $10 fee for remittance of
