Withdraw as a joint sponsor

How to I withdraw as a joint sponsor for my relatives? The I-864 form was submitted(I'm the joint sponsor). An interview date is scheduled at US consulate GuangZhou on Jan 20th 2009. Can I fax a letter to US consulate in GuangZhou stating my withdraw?
