Green Card Masala

For me the recipe is

6 J1s skinned
6 J2s , wilted
1 J1 waiver, mashed
1 H1B pureed
1 H4 , powdered
1 I-140 Minced
2 I-485 pulped(spouse included)
9 EADs, steamed and peeled
9 I-765s hard boiled
1 RFE (for excitement)

Method of cooking:
Mix all above ingredients in a large bowl. Place it on medium flame. If needed, one can get a special burner called "lawyerpro 2000" which takes lots of greenbacks as fuel. Stir occassionally. Over a period of 9-10 years the gravy will seperate and 2 'green cards' will float to the surface(if you are lucky). If not, throw everything out and start again.
Serves 2.

For added flavour, Greencards may be used as per the recipe for Citizenship Stronganoff.

I suggest USCIS starts a loyalty program the similar one as airlines have so we all can earn money for every dollar spent doing business with USCIS. :)

Ok boys, here's what I got:

Not kidding at all but that number includes renewals.

My first H1B was for 3 years, the first renewal for 2 years and the final for 1 year. At that point I had started the green card process and even though I had an H1B for 6 years, I can renew the H1B every year, once a year in October. It is the highlight of autumn for me - filling in the paperwork just to get a brand new, crisp, H1B. All of my yankee friends are jealous because they can't have their own sexy H1B renewal.

You guys and gals make me laugh. I had to chime in. Not so much as some. I didn't even realize that I had gotten this much until writing it out!!

3 TNs
2 H1Bs
1 LC
1 I-140
1 RFE for I-140
2 EAD
1 AP (didn't apply for it originally, and never used the one that I applied for. Wasted $$ into the CIS black hole)
1 I-485
1 fingerprint notice
1 RFE for I-485
1 reply to Service Request
1 I-551 (aka Green Card)

And it only took 9 years.

I have decided to end my business with USCIS. I think they are overpriced and slow unpredictable service. If they had a loyalty plan with points I may have considered continuing my loyalty to them (they coulda thrown in a free toaster for every EAD or something!!). Unfortunately, since they have a monopoly on the market, I may need their assistance again in 5 years.

CdnGirl - AP really is the biggest waste of cashish. The first one I got I didn't use for almost a year then decided to give it a whirl and I had to sit in Pearson for 45 minutes while they clicked away on their computers like United check-in staff. Now they always detain me, make me anxious, ask if I've ever been arrested, tell me my company is next to get a bail-out, predict I'll be out of work any second now, explain their cousin works for the same company earning 2x as much as me, and then they finally let me in. Should have stuck with the H1B entry pass.

I vote for the removal of AP from the USCIS menu!!

We all need a sense of humour, at least I do. People who have never been in this cluster f^%^, just don't understand.
