請教pjiang老師:what should my wife get:EAD or H1b extension

Hi, Teacher Pjiang,
My I-485 (EB1a)was approved on 10-08-08 but still waiting for card. My wife is on H1b visa working in a university lab and her visa is gonna hit 6-year limit in March of 2009. Her I-485 as my derivative was filed in in 2007 and currently pending. She just received a letter from USCIS in response to our phone inquiry that they need another 6 month to process her case, so here is my question: what should my wife get, a H1b extension, or EAD? Thanks in advance.
