Help!! university H1B got payment $2000 for a 2nd a-week-job fro

Since my current boss knows industrial people, and he got a small job provided by a company several months ago: look up literatures. My boss thereafter asked for my help. So after I finished the job, the company directly deposited $2000 my personal bank account. However, I did not realize that this was the 2nd job and actually not allowed to do for H1 holder based on this forum and USCIS rules,

what should I do right now? should I return the money to the company? please give me suggestion if you have similar experimence,
