Do you have h1b status or h1b visa? If not a valid visa with multiple entry, you will have to get the AP. Actually an AP is highly recommended for the trip. As far as your parents, they will HAVE TO have a valid visa with multiple entries. I am actually having the same situation with a group of people. So did a lot of research.
