Thanks for all comments.
The original post is "如果我用H1為華盛頓州的一個公司工作,如果公司同意的話,我可否仍住在加州,從而保持我的加州居民身份麽?"
My understanding are
1) 如果我用H1為華盛頓州的一個公司工作
It appears that H-1 petition/approval is no longer an issue in the situation. So I did not concern "他的H1就不會那麽順當的批"
2) 從而保持我的加州居民身份麽
there is no such "CA residence status" or the like, and the things I could think of are, paying CA state tax, and keep CA driver license, as no vote being involved yet. Those are not in the realm of USCIS, nor his employer.
BTW, to prove a residence, usually a utility bill is sufficient, say when you apply a library card locally.
"I think his concern is whether he can still have the same rights, benefits and privileges as other CA residents who pay CA state tax."
- Since he pays CA state tax, and lives there, he is entitles to all rights/benefits/privileges no matter whom he works for/he does not work/his employer location/work location.
Maybe OP has other concerns he did not disclose, which is not addressed. His concern of living in a state and working in another state, is not problematic.
