TN1 轉 H1

Hi,

I need to change TN1 to H1 and have couple of questions here:
1. Do I need to go back to border to active my H1? May I do it in airport, such as JFK?
2. I want to apply for greencard now. Will this affect my application for TN1 if I need it later?
