-No, F-1 Grace Period only applys to the F-1 holer afer he/she finishes a study program (e.g. Bs, MS, PH.D).
Can I stay legally in US until my H1-B is effective?
-Technically no, but it will not be a problem for your future I-485 due to such a short peroid of out of status. You also can go outside U.S. to get an H-1 visa to come back anytime in the future to fix this problem. Once you do that, your previous unlawful presence will be removed completely from your record in USCIS. So, do not worry about that and just go to work on Oct. 1.
