No, they didn't question that. As a matter of fact, the overall area of my current work is aligned with my past research, although with different emphasis. I mentioned about my current position as software engineer, but I also positioned myself as a "computer scientist specialized in xxx field". So the critical thing is to correlated this "xxx" with you past work.
