Can one change to a different functionality job when 485 is pen?

I applied GC through Perm as EB2 on Spet. 2005. My I485 was pending for over a year. I was wondering if anyone can give me some suggestion on job change feasibility. Currently, I work as a process engineer, which do daily work in the lab and support customer occasionally. Recently, I was informed there is an opportunity to transfer another group within the company as a technical support manager. Of course, the daily duty will be different.
If anyone can kindly let me know if there is any risk of changing jobs for my case. Does USCIS check job function in the final adjudication?
