首先：非常感謝您的幫助, 863211!

That is a good news that I can work immediately if my H1 approved when(Don't need wait till next October 1st).

My question is: if I got H4 successfully, and I find a job later on, how long usually take to get H1 approved so I can start to work? (can I go to work once the immigration office has received my case, or: I receive a receipt for the application)?

The reason I ask this is: employer will always ask you: when can you start to work?
